What To Bring to the East Texas Lakes

  1. Rain or shine, pack sun protection for a day outdoors. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends your sunscreen should be at least SPF 30, broadspectrum, and water resistant. Some sun protection people often overlook when packing is sun protection lip balm, a wide-brimmed hat, UPF clothing, and 100% UV protection sunglasses. 
  2. Don’t forget to pack an insulated cooler filled with drinks and snacks. A fun day at the lake can work up a mighty appetite and thirst. For guests that are 21+, alcoholic beverages can be a fun addition to pack, but make sure you prioritize safety. Just like you wouldn’t drive a car while intoxicated, don’t navigate a boat. 
  3. Packing towels and a dry change of clothes is a great idea. Even if you’re not planning on swimming, there’s always a chance you could get wet. If that happens, you’ll be glad that you came prepared.

How To Spend a Day on the Lake in East Texas

Provide limitations

Sticking with beer and wine only is one way to help people self-monitor and to keep everyone from getting too drunk too fast. Liquor is, after all, quicker. If you’re still concerned with an open bar, go to a drink ticket system or just provide a cash bar. People tend to drink less when it’s on their dime.

Evaluate the Company Culture

If the majority of the attendees are going to be in their early 20’s, it will be helpful to let everyone know what the expectations are and providing limitations (see above) might be something to think hard about. If your employees are more mature, they will be more likely to self-moderate. This is also a good idea to remind team members of the current company policies regarding alcohol and general expectations when it comes to behavior.

Lead by Example

If your manager is passing around shots, it sets a precedent. Speak with the managers and other leaders in the company and make sure they know that they are expected to lead by example and not get out of hand themselves.

Serve Food

Nothing starts an embarrassing moment like four glasses of wine and a salad. Make sure there is plenty of hearty food available when alcohol is served so that nobody is drinking on an empty stomach.

Include an Activity

TIPS FOR PLANNING YOUR DALLAS SPECIAL EVENTS TEAM-BUILDING WORKSHOPS

Sometimes teams, whether co-workers, student government leaders, church group leaders,  etcetera aren’t quite functioning at their optimum level.  Or perhaps, there is a newly formed group who have not yet had the opportunity to get to know each other.  A Dallas special events team-building workshop might be just the ticket to get your group up and running at its best.

Following are some tips to assure that your Dallas special events team-building workshop is a success:

HAVE A PURPOSE IN MIND.  Mind Tools, an organization highly recommended as an important part of one’s professional leadership toolkit, suggests that, “Team-building exercises can be a powerful way to unite a group, develop strengths, and address weaknesses. Our wedding packages always include a minimum 4 hours for the wedding ceremony and reception, wedding in the gardens and white garden chairs for the ceremony, our beautiful white lantern centerpieces and choice of Grand Lodge or Pavilion for the reception, and tables, chairs and linens for the reception and more.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Where do you plan to stay on your wedding night? Included in our wedding package we have a beautiful honeymoon cottage for your first night as husband and wife. Do you have out of town guests that will need accommodations? Let us set up a group block to keep your family and friends close on your special day.
