Our new weekly activity schedule holds some new suprises! We have added a shuttle trip to Savannah Winery on Friday nights. Enjoy dinner, live entertainment and wine by the glass or bottle. It is a great evening out. We have also added a scrapbooking class and work session. Thursday afternoons are filled with laughing and scrapping in the Grand Lodge. Come join in on the fun. Some minimal supplies are available for purchase. We will have a fun new technique to learn every week. We have formed a great relationship with the local fitness club and now can offer classes such as ZUMBA, Yoga, bootcamp, workout gym, resistance pool, cardio classes and more. All are listed on our activities schedule. The shuttle leaves about 15 min prior to get to the class on time. The rate for each class or day pass is listed next to the activity.We have also added a shopping excursion so that you can enjoy the shopping of First Monday all month. Many booths have permanent stores in the area and it sure beats the crowd! Call ahead to make your reservation for any of our shuttle excursions! KIDS CLuB Kids Club is a great way for kids to stay connected at Mill Creek. Special Activities, monthly Newsletter, and more for our Mill Creek Campers! The best part—it’s free! Kids of all ages are encouraged to sign up by email, phone, or come by the RV Lodge during your visit to sign up. Specials will run throughout the year for members. Mill Creek is the place to be for Halloween! Halloween is on a First Monday weekend and will be filled with fun, fun, fun! We will have a harvest party with music, hayrides, face painting, glow in the dark fun, pumpkin fun and costumes! (Please no scary costumes.) Activities for the weekend will include moonlight nature walk, critter race, and campfire stories. Saturday night will be the First Monday BBQ as well. Bring your family to stay with us for this exciting weekend. GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION

CANTON, TX (July 11, 2008) – Over 1,000 people experienced Texas’ finest new resort in celebration of the Mill Creek Ranch Resort Grand Opening. On Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., July 10, people came from as far away as Castle Rock, Colorado to participate in the fun filled evening. The celebration began with the ribbon cutting sponsored by the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce. Entertainment was provided by International Tribute Artist James L Wages, impersonating the music and style of Elvis Presley, and Sam Art Man, a caricature artist. Broadcasting live on site were True Country 1510 AM and The Ranch 104.1 FM radio stations. Carriage rides were offered to Wedding Island and golf carts were in perpetual motion enabling visitors to see the spectacular 58-acre development which is the first phase of the total 200-acres. Mill Creek Ranch Resort General Manager, Bud Surles, said, “I want to give personal thanks to the many in the community who gave gifts and added support for this Grand event.” Caterers for the event included Baker’s Ribs, Canton Square Bakery and Café, Church’s Chicken, and Schwan’s. Oasis Day Spa, Splash Kingdom Waterpark, Texas Rotor and Wing, and Twin Lakes Golf Course all contributed to the prizes packages. The evening closed with drawings for special packages. Tim Redd from Terrell won the Family Fun Activity Package. John Marshall from Canton won the special barbeque package, and Bill Tullis took home the Bird Watching Package. Sue Barnes of Alba won the Romance Package; Kathy Plumb of Keller received the Golf Retreat package. Dorothy Miller of Canton won the Spa Escape Package while Rick Tanner of Wills Point took home the Summer Fun Package, and Theresa Leftwhich of Canton received the Adventure High Package.
